How to become a Counseling Psychologist
Counseling psychologists must earn a doctorate in order to begin their career. Major universities across North America offer either a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology, or a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
Counseling Psychology degrees are also offered at some universities, and encompass core concepts in psychology as well as areas of specialization such as biological and cognitive schools of thought.
