To work as an endoscopy technician, one must complete an associate of science degree in surgical technology. While training can take between one to two years, many students who plan on a career as an endoscopy technician also participate in an internship program in a health care facility. Aside from education, endoscopy technician candidates must also possess critical thinking skills, good reading comprehension, an understanding of medical terms, and excellent communication skills.
