How to become a Mining Machine Operator
Little training is required for this occupation, although employers prefer candidates to have some experience in mining or heavy equipment. State regulations require at least 40 hours of training, and can usually be given by an experienced worker. Usually, a driver's license is required.
Applicants may be required to pass a medical exam, drug test, and Differential Aptitude Test. Generally, people begin working as truck drivers, helpers, or labourers, and advance to more complicated equipment.
