How to become a Search Engine Marketing Specialist
Most search engine marketing specialists earn a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or information technology before entering the field. One to three years of experience in online marketing is preferred, as is a proficiency in CSS, HTML, and other common programming languages. SEM specialists sometimes start off as SEO specialists, eventually moving on to the broader SEM field.
SEM specialists will need to remain up to date regarding any changes or modifications that search engines continually make by looking at online and professional forums, blogs, and by interacting with other SEM professionals. There are also webinars, training programs, seminars, and conferences available.
